We’d Like You to Meet Kevin Gagner!
Kevin Gagner is a lifelong learner, which makes him an awesome application administrator at Rise. Kevin’s job requires him to carry out a great number of tasks covering a broad range of subject areas, so there are always new things for him to be learning.
As an application administrator, Kevin is tasked with training and developing databases, reporting on business data, assisting the finance department with insurance billing and collecting, and managing the flow of tickets hitting the helpdesk.
With all that task work, it’s safe to say that Kevin’s days are busy and full of challenges. It’s one of the reasons that he loves working at Rise. “I like working for Rise because I’m able to best use my skills and challenge myself with diverse, and often challenging, tasks that have a wide impacting reach.”
He also loves that his job allows him to support people with disabilities who greatly benefit from his assistance, which is something he’s passionate about. One of his favorite parts of his job is when he’s able to “find solutions to problems that make other people’s job easier and less time consuming.”
Kevin’s thirst for learning doesn’t stop when his shifts end, as he’s always on the hunt to find continuing-education courses that can help him advance his career. A recent example of Kevin’s pursuit of learning is that he joined a subcommittee for an industry trade association called MOHR (Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation), where he’s helping put together a survey to improve industry transportation.
Outside of work, one of Kevin’s favorite hobbies is food. He enjoys trying out new food at restaurants or by cooking up the dishes himself. You won’t be able to find a type of food that will scare Kevin away, as he says, “I’ll try anything once.”
Kevin and his wife Melanie have a young daughter named Aria who’s almost two-years old, and a Cocker Spaniel Poodle Mix named Obi Wan. When he’s not busy learning new things and trying bold foods, Kevin is running around the pitch for his rec-league soccer team.
Kevin has been working with Rise since January of 2016, starting out as a business process specialist. He loves working Rise because, “they take a lot of care and consideration about how decisions affect all staff members.”
Rise is excited to partner with people like Kevin who are interested in making a difference in their communities. Check out our open opportunities today to learn more about our teams and the services we provide.
