Considered an integral member and true asset of the team, her co-workers say Employment Consultant Jen Wiza has “brought new energy” to the Hennepin Health grant that she works on. She consistently goes above and beyond to support the people on her caseload to meet their needs. Their team outcomes have improved and the relationships with business partners, referral sources, and employers are outstanding. Although fairly new to Rise, Jen is also great about mentoring /assisting her peers in their important work.

Jen says, “The best part of my job are the people I serve and seeing the glimmer of hope and excitement they get when we move along in their employment journey.  I have had people break down and cry out of absolute gratitude and have seen some of the best smiles. It feels so honoring to be able to be a part of people’s lives and get assist them through some of the toughest situations.”

Somewhat surprised to be working in the human services field, Jen is excited to use her skills, education, and community involvement activities assisting people in their career development. In addition to working full time at Rise, Jen is finishing up a double major in human resources and business marketing education with double minors in product and interdisciplinary design.

Originally from Milwaukee, Jen and her boyfriend enjoy traveling and have been to many European and Latin American countries as well as camping in national and state parks. She also enjoys cooking ceramic, painting, and woodworking. Jen and her boyfriend hope to build a “tiny house” one day.
